MANTLE Mid-Atlantic Network for Teaching Learning Enterprises. The purpose of the Mid-Atlantic Network for Teaching Learning Enterprises (MANTLE) is to create a constructive forum for sharing and disseminating knowledge about distance education with a particular focus on the professional development of educators engaged in this type of curriculum instruction. MANTLE's objective is to promote the development and implementation of distance education at an institutional, local, state and national level. Initially underwritten by a grant from Bell Atlantic, MANTLE was established in Fall 1995 to provide both forums for the sharing of institutional wisdom and experience, and to provide services and develop products which will be useful to present and future distant educators.
