This message is to formally announce the availability of ADL version 0.8.
The message below describes where and how to find this version. Please note
that along with this version is the first cut at a localization package for
ADL - Japanese.

Review comments on this version should be submitted no later than 10 August
to this mailing list. I look forward to seeing your input!

Sun Microsystems Laboratories (SML) has transferred the following
deliverables to the public server ftp.uu.net in the directory
/vendor/adl/release :

        1. ADLT 0.8 Source Code Release Directory

        2. ADL Translator Design Specification, Version 2.1

        3. ADL Language Reference Manual, Version 2.1

        4. ADL Translator Programmer's Guide, Version 1.1

        5. ADL Translator User's Guide, Version 1.1

        6. ADL Japanese Localization Package 1.0 Alpha


SML certifies that the software and documentation detailed above have
been inspected and verified in accordance with the conditions and
requirements of the ADL Project Contract and unless otherwise noted
below, conform in all respects to the Acceptance Criteria defined in
section 9 of the ADL Project Quality Plan.

In addition to the above, the ADL System Release 0.8 test closure report
is also available from the ftp site in /vendor/adl/release/doc/tc8_rpt.ps.Z.

We have released the ADL System documentation as a separate compressed
tar file from the ADL System 0.8 tar file distribution. The following
tar files are being distributed as part of this release:

        1) adl0.8.tar.Z          - Contains the source code for the ADL
                                   Translation System, Version 0.8.


        2) adl0.8.doc.tar.Z      - Contains the ADL System documentation in
                                   FrameMaker and postscript form for the 0.8
                                   ADL System release.

        3) adl0.8.psdoc.tar.Z    - Contains the ADL System documentation in
                                   postscript form for the 0.8 ADL System
                                   release.

        4) adl0.8.sunos.tar.Z    - Contains the binaries and sources for
                                   Sparc machines running SunOS 4.x

        5) adl0.8.solaris.tar.Z  - Contains the binaries and sources for
                                   Sparc machines running Solaris 2.x

        6) adljp1.0.alpha.tar.Z  - A compressed tar file containing the ADL
                                   Japanese Localization Package
